This is of course White Mage from Final Fantasy 1.
This is supposed to be along the lines of the running joke on 8-bit Theater about White Mage's negative reaction to Black Mage hitting on her all the time. However, I was so happy not to have horribly screwed up White Mage that I will not yet be adding Black Mage...curled up in a fetal position at her feet. I may do this later, or I may not, as it seems to work okay as is.
Oh, and yes, I know her hammer (well, mallet I suppose) looks more like a drum than a hammer; this was intentional. I figured it looked better with her outfit that way. Besides, it makes cleaning the thing as simple as replacing the skins at the ends and appeals to a white mage's gentle sensibilities by cushioning the blow for her target. Which...means she has to hit them more. But she'll be really sorry about it the whole time, so it's okay
(Scratch this part, apparently this is something I got right...yay! Now if I could just fix the darned hood)
Considering how long it has been since I have drawn much of anything, and the fact that there is an injury to my drawing hand (which didn't interfere YAY!), I'm rather pleased with how this came out. No shading, mostly because I am rusty, partly because I'm just lazy

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
